At LockSmith School Inc. we are frequently asked some important questions relating to the trade and our training. We have put together a list of what we consider to be our most frequently asked questions, (F.A.Q.’s) with their accompanying answers. Please feel free to submit a question you feel pertinent and important on the following submission form via e-mail. Upon our review, your question may be added to our F.A.Q.’s. We welcome your input and value your questions.
 

We offer four hands-on classes each taught independent of the others.
No, not at this time but, we will soon offer Video Training Instruction for each class.
Each class is scheduled on a as needed bases. Once the school has student applications on file the class roster fills and start dates are set.
After completion of each class students take a Review Exam over the most important topics of that class and each student then receives a Certificate of Proficiency from the school for each course taken. This certificate will allow students to purchase supplies and business accounts.
It is the purpose of the license to substantiate the abilities of the individual involved in locksmithing. At this time there is no license required in the state of Indiana for locksmithing. Although, it is in legislation and will soon effect each state autonomously.
It will define who can do the work and force individuals to get the training required to pass the License Exam. An annual license fee will also be enforced to do business.
Bonding is an advertising go to the general public. It tells the public that you posses a bond and can be trusted on their premises. The bonding company will do a background check on each applicant. If you have a criminal record the bonding company can reject your application. After completion of any course offered by Locksmith School Inc. you may be eligible to be a Bonded Locksmith. The application for bonding is available through the school and a fee is required.
When you become registered, you are given a registration number and a pocket identification card to be used as credentials. After completion of any course offered by Locksmith School Inc. you may be eligible for the status of Registered Locksmith (RL) or Registered-Bonded Locksmith. The application for registration is available through the school and a fee is required.
This status is offered by the Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA). Membership to the organization is required and passing of the mandatory exams. There is a fee required by (ALOA) for membership to the organization and a fee is required for testing. After completion of any class offered by Locksmith School Inc. an application for (ALOA) is made available and your instructor becomes your sponsor for membership.
All our courses have been reviewed by the Independent Third Party Review Panel of Oxford Maryland. Upon the successful review, our classes have been awarded Continuing Education Units (C.E.U.’s). Some colleges may accept C.E.U.’s as credits toward a degree.
Each course is written how to step-by-step on a learning ladder. This enables students to learn at there own rate and not to get behind. This method of learning promotes a solid foundation and encourages learning.
